The third version of the R25 was an incredibly modern motorcycle, which was characterized by a hydraulically damped telescopic fork, a modern exhaust and alloy wheels. The model was only slightly heavier than its predecessor, the R25 / 2, for that the Vmax increased because of a more powerful motor.
A long time this model created the sales record at BMW. It was also the first BMW model with full hub brakes.
