General Information:
The R 27 was the last model with a quarter-liter cylinder. The engine was connected to the frame by rubber elements in order to avoid disturbing vibrations. This model was equipped with three hp more than the others, therefore it accelerated significantly better.
The R27 was produced until 1966, a planned successor hasn't been realised. Only 30 years later BMW put a one-cylinder on the market again.
